What does my session fee include?

Your session fee is a flat price which, depending on which package you choose, will include complimentary style and location consultation and an open line of communication leading up to your session, 30 to 60+ minutes of shooting time, high resolution professionally edited digital images, web gallery access, and a print release. Each package comes with the option to purchase additional images or the full gallery as well as professional prints and products through my professional photo lab.

Sessions start at $275 (plus 7% sales tax). Fill out the form in the Booking tab to get started!

What can I expect from a lifestyle session?

We will meet about ten minutes before our scheduled session time to ensure we have ample time to shoot. Because I specialize in natural light, outdoor sessions typically take place about one hour before sunset while indoor sessions take place during the daytime. Much of your session will be spent interacting with both each other and the environment. My goal is to capture my clients in a more natural, relaxed state, so I may have a couple of fun and silly exercises to help us loosen up.

What about the terrible twos or threenagers?

As a mom, I understand that little ones rarely cooperate exactly how we want, and that’s okay! I like to focus on the little details that we parents so vividly remember years after they’ve grown out of those bright blonde curls or turned in toes or that gigantic single teardrop. If mud pies are on your toddler’s agenda, I’m more than game to get my knees muddy. I firmly believe in meeting every child where they are. The best memories are made when life doesn’t go exactly according to plan, and the best smiles are genuine and spontaneous.

Do I have to stand in a field?

While I do love a good field of pretty wildflowers or tall prairie grass, and our land runneth over with cornfields, I also love when my clients make their sessions personal to them. Please feel free to offer suggestions for locations or activities that help tailor your session to your values and interests. If you’re a musical family, let’s have a jam session. If you and your fiancé are coffee aficionados, let’s get cozy at a local cafe. If you love to bake cookies on a rainy day, invite me over to photograph your little one’s doughy fingers and chocolate covered kisses. In home lifestyle sessions can be so much fun and result in precious memories, making your home more than just a house but a part of your family.

What happens after my session?

I’ll post sneak peeks to social media (unless otherwise noted) 24-48 hours after your session. Typical turnaround time for sessions is four to six weeks although that can change, depending on the season. I will do my best to communicate any changes with your delivery date. When I finish the editing process, I will upload a gallery of watermarked proofs of your best shots. Once you’ve favorited the images you love, you will have the option to purchase more than the allotted number of images included in your package at an a la carte price, or you can purchase your entire gallery for a special all-inclusive rate. High resolution images will be delivered in an online gallery after any additional payment is received, and you will receive a print release, granting you full non-commercial printing rights.

Will you photograph my wedding/event?

I would love to! I am currently booking weddings through 2024, but space is limited. Please fill out the Booking form to check availability and try to be as detailed as possible.

Wedding collections start at $2000. For more information on wedding collections, visit the weddings page.

Do you offer mini sessions?

From time to time, I will offer a themed mini session promotion (e.g. Mommy & Me close to Mother’s Day). These sessions are a little shorter, cost less, deliver fewer images than my typical sessions but will still give you a complete experience. These are not sessions I regularly offer, so follow me on social media to get in on those sweet deals!

Will you travel outside of the Quad Cities area?

For the right job, yes! I charge a round trip travel fee of $0.50 per mile more than 25 miles outside of the Quad Cities (zip code 52722). Weddings and events longer than four hours and outside of a 100 mile radius will also incur a lodging fee.

Do you have a studio?

I exclusively shoot on location, and I do not have a brick and mortar studio. If you are interested in a session in a more controlled studio setting, I can arrange a rental time slot with one of our wonderful local studios such as Brick & Bougie and Linen & Light (subject to availability).

How do I book a session?

Visit the Booking page and fill out the inquiry form. I will be in touch as soon as reasonably possible. If we decide to work together, we’ll schedule a date for our session. A signed contract and non-refundable retainer are due upon booking to hold your date, and the remaining balance is due before the time of our session. Payment plans are available for wedding collections upon request.

Whenever possible I like to meet clients before their session, just to shake out those first meeting jitters and start brainstorming. Coffee and brewery dates are my favorite. Let’s chat!
